Columbia, MD Shoppers beware!

With the holiday season fast approaching there is zero room for error with the management of retail locations. Here is a slimmed down version of a terrible experience with the management at the Toys 'R Us in Columbia, MD.

All my friend wanted was to buy a couple Wii games, but thanks to the Manager's mismanagement of the Wii console sales, he couldn't even do that. Read More...

Technology on Tap!
You're probably wondering where the name came from? Well, my co-founder and I met while we were both working security at an Adams Morgan nightclub (Washington, DC). We share rare traits in the computer industry, specifically honesty, promptness, and a return to quality customer service.
We both believe in the old fashioned rule that you keep a customer by treating them well. And I'm personally appalled at the reputation both the computer industry and the customer relations industry share right now.
So, two individuals with day jobs got together and founded Techie Tender Consulting with the idea that when ever you have a problem in life, your bartender's usually the first to know about it. Hopefully, when ever you have an IT problem in life, your Techietender will be the first to know.
We have been incorporated as an llc for about 8 months. Please check out the website for details on what we do, how we do, and how you can hire us to solve all your Information Technology needs.

Redskins dominate with a win in Philly's house
|
![]() |
The Redskins go to 2 and 0 with a win over the Eagles on Monday Night Football. Prior to this game, the Redskins were 3-7 in the last 10 Monday night matchups.
My favorite moment in last night's game came with 22 seconds left before the half. The Eagles were up 6 to 3. The Redskins run the ball to the 1 yard line, but don't quite get out of bounds to stop the clock. The officials stopped the clock just long enough to cause chaos. The clock ticks down to 14 seconds, and the coaches still haven't called a play. Penalty, Redskins, delay of game, for 10 yards and a down. 2nd and 11 - Penalty, Redskins, offsides, 5 yards and a down.
Classic Redskins screw up. These are the first two penalties for the Redskins during the first half of the game.
It's 3rd and 16. The kicking team heads out on the field. For some reason, the Eagles call a time out. For some reason Joe Gibbs, in rare form, decides to send Campbell and the offense back out.
Campbell drops back to pass. I'm barely paying attention because I still think we're kicking the ball. Next thing you know, Chris Cooly is lying in the end zone with a football in his hands. TOUCHDOWN!
If the Skins win next week, and Dallas loses, we will be Number 1 in our division. We play the Giants, who are 0-2 and having a real crisis. Go Skins!
Natural Bridge Va - Safaris, Stonehedge, and Haunted Houses!
|
![]() |
You can actually feed them - directly from the car, see?

Then, on our way to the Haunted Manor, we stopped off at Stonehenge.. er Foamhenge. A scale replica of Stonehenge, made completely out of foam.

There were some people playing a very interesting hide and seek game involving a whiffle ball/bat, and the "stones". It actually looked like a lot of fun. But, the most interesting part were the two theories as to how the stones at the real Stonehenge got where they were. The one plausible theory was that they were carefully hoisted using wood tripods. The other theory, well -

That's right, the second theory is that Merlin himself levitated the stones into place. Well sure, you never know!
After Foamhenge we went to Natural Bridge, but only had enough energy for the Haunted House and the Dino Park.

The Haunted House got us all. It was a lot of fun. After a lovely introduction, you get sent off on your own to figure out how to get through the house. The real spook comes at the end. I wont ruin it, but it was fun.
Then in the Dino park, we learned a very interesting twist to Virginia history, including what may have really caused the Union to lose the first battle of Manassas

Well, check out the rest of the pictures here. And I have a couple videos -
Ostriches take us over at the exit of the Safari -
Watch out when feeding the Dinosaurs -
All in all it was a ton of fun, hopefully next time we'll have time to actually see the Bridge, the Wax Museum, Toy Museum, and other stuff there in Natural Bridge, VA.
For Petey Greene's Family, 'Talk to Me' Is Anything but a Feel-Good Hit

Melanie Greene, Petey's youngest daughter, is a close friend of mine. It is a shame that they couldn't work with the family to produce the real story of Petey Greene. He was a local icon, and hero to many, and deserves to be portrayed as such.

I'm sure this is a great entertaining movie, but it doesn't tell the Petey Greene story.
Redskins vs Steelers - Preseason

Even though it's preseason, and even though I missed both the scrimage and the win against the Titans, this game marked the official start to football season for me.
I know the Redskins lost when their third string defense came out to finish the game, and maybe it was because I was too tired to watch all 4 quarters (I made it to the end of the 3rd, just barely) but these guys so far look much better than they have in previous years. The defense was sick, brutal. And until that dirty hit (yeah yeah, tell me it wasn't) on Campbell by Keisel it looked like we had a potental legacy quarterback.
And then we waited, prayed, come on Campbell, get back up man, get back up. And he finally did. And he was only BRUISED. That hit should have been so much worse. But he's doubled in size since last year, and I think that's what helped.
If you're a football fan, please check out my forum and discuss your team. Check out Thomas Boswell's article for inspiration.

Well, it looks like she's back. I'm not sure if it was the move to a place that's finally all mine, or a recent change in friendship, but I'm writing again. Not as frequently as I used to, but 2 poems in 2 weeks I think is pretty good.
